Sponsor a Child We partner with Kenyan church leaders who provide daily care for over 800 children. Your gift will help feed, clothe and educate these children in a safe and loving environment. Sponsor a Child Frequently Asked Questions How much of this money is used for overhead expenses? None. We find other creative ways of covering the costs of the ministry. One of those ways is a separate “General” fund where many of our donors choose to give in addition to their sponsorship donations. How is my money used? Child sponsorship donations are used to provide the children with two hot meals per day and school uniforms and supplies each year. How do you keep qualified teachers? We have a Teacher Sponsorship fund, too! If you want to help us retain our nationally-recognized faculty and staff, we would love for you to sponsor a teacher as well. What about medical care? The school in Ahero is less than 30 minutes from an urban hospital, so those kids are in good hands. In 2017 a medical center was constructed adjacent to the school in Wachara, so now those children have medical access in their backyard! Are these kids at public schools? Education works very different than our American systems. Pastor Benard started a private school for these children, since it costs money to attend other schools in Kenya. Benard’s Vision School is recognized in the region as one of the top schools in terms of academic standards. They regularly rank in the top 3 educational institutions in Western Kenya! Can I meet the child I sponsor? While we understand your desire to meet “your” child, sponsorship at H4H works a little bit differently than that. So, the short answer is “YES,” we would love for you to visit BVS and see what God is doing there. For the long answer – and some cultural education regarding our rationale – we invite you to reach out to us. We love helping people understand how life works where these children live.
